I finally gave in and bought a proper bearing press kit

For years I thought a homemade press made from sockets and a long bolt was good enough, but I kept messing up headset cups on carbon frames. I dropped about $180 on the Park Tool HHP-2 last month. The first time I used it on a customer's fancy gravel bike, the cup went in straight and silent on the first try, no fuss. What other tools did you guys think were a waste until you actually bought one?

Been there with the socket press. It always felt like a gamble, especially with anything carbon. My big one was a torque wrench. Used to just crank things down until they felt right. Snapped a derailleur hanger once and that was it. Now I check everything, even bottle cage bolts.
