Bought a $300 truing stand for my home shop and it's a total game changer
I used to true wheels on the bike with zip ties on the frame, which was slow and never perfect. After messing up a nice set of rims last month, I finally spent the money on a proper Park Tool TS-2.2 stand. It paid for itself in two weeks just from the local shop sending me their overflow wheel work. The precision is night and day, and I can do a full true in under 20 minutes now. What other single tool made that big of a jump in your work speed?

Ever think about how a simple chain checker tool changes everything? I used to guess when my chain was worn, swapping it way too early or ruining cassettes by waiting too long. That little gauge takes all the stress out of it. Now I check every month and only replace stuff when it's actually needed. It saves so much money and guesswork for like fifteen bucks.

Right? I was the same way, just eyeballing it and getting it wrong every time. That little tool is a total game changer for keeping the bike running smooth without wasting parts.

Always thought chain checkers were a gimmick until @brookes37 convinced me to try one, now I can't believe I waited so long.

Ruining cassettes by waiting too long" is a fear I know too well. I mean, I used to just yank on the chain and hope for the best, which was a solid plan for wasting money. Maybe it's just me, but that little gauge feels like cheating.
