Appreciation post: Finally fixed an old Campagnolo hub that sat in my parts bin for months

Last Tuesday I dug out a vintage Campagnolo Record hub from 1982 that had a gritty feel when I spun it. I Figured it just needed new bearings, but when I opened it up the race was pitted from old dried grease. Spent 20 minutes with some fine sandpaper and a dab of lithium grease and now it spins like butter again. Anyone else have luck saving old Italian hubs or do you just toss em?

Used to just throw old hubs away but you changed my mind with this one.

@susan488 That's exactly how I felt too. Always tossed them in a drawer or straight into the trash before. Now I save em for a scraper project I saw on YouTube - works great for prying off old door trim without denting it.
