Spent $300 on a fancy digital thermometer that promised perfect brisket

The probe failed after two cooks and the company said it was 'user error' from smoke exposure. Anyone know a reliable brand that actually holds up in a real pit?

That's a pretty weak excuse from the company. Smoke exposure is the whole point of a pit thermometer. Did they offer any kind of refund or just blame you?

My ThermoPro lasted two seasons before the screen fogged up. They sent a replacement right away, no hassle. Some companies actually stand by their gear.
