I dropped $450 on a wireless meat probe set and it completely changed my overnight cooks.

Now I can actually sleep instead of checking the fire every 90 minutes, but I'm curious if anyone else has a brand they swear by that's more reliable in the long run?

My cheap probe failing is why I still smell like smoke.

My buddy's cheap probe failed mid-brisket and he still gets mad about it.

Charlie says his cheap probe failing is why he still smells like smoke, but honestly, that's a badge of honor compared to having to explain to your guests why your brisket tastes like regret at 6 AM. I've seen too many friends lose a whole brisket to a $20 thermometer that decided to take a nap at 2 in the morning. You pay for reliability or you pay for replacement and therapy, pick your poison. That $450 set probably pays for itself in saved sleep and not having to apologize for overcooked meat.
