Had to pick between a $200 offset smoker and a $400 Weber kettle for my backyard

I went with the Weber kettle because I figured I could learn temp control on it easier, and after 6 months of brisket and ribs, I think I made the right call for now but has anyone else regretted going cheaper on their first rig?

Yeah the Weber kettle is a solid first rig, no regrets needed there lol.
