Can we talk about how long it took me to get a Brisket right
I spent like 8 months trying to nail a full packer brisket on my offset smoker in Kansas City. Turns out my fire management was all off and I was letting temps swing by 50 degrees every hour. Finally had a buddy from a competition team come over and he fixed my coal layout in 10 minutes flat. Anyone else spend way too long fighting something simple?

Man, that's rough but I totally get it. Nothing worse than spending months on something just to have a buddy walk in and fix it in ten minutes.

Three years ago I spent an entire weekend trying to wire a ceiling fan, and my cousin walked in and had it running in under five minutes. He literally just swapped two wires and tightened a screw, and I felt like such a fool. @henderson.mason you hit the nail right on the head with that one, it's like the universe has a personal vendetta against us tinkerers. I swear my garage is full of projects that took me forever and then someone waltzes in and shows me the "easy way" and I want to throw my tools across the room. Makes me wonder if I'm just bad at reading instructions or if I'm missing some basic life skill. But hey, at least we learn something, even if it's just humility right?
