Serious question, is it actually wrong to charge my roommate $40 for the toilet paper and soap I keep buying?
I talked to my sister in Boise about this on Sunday and she said splitting shared stuff 50/50 is normal, and I flat out disagree. I have bought every roll of toilet paper, every bottle of dish soap, and every sponge for our place since March, and I added it up to $210 so far. My roommate says it all "evens out" because he bought a couch from a friend once, which is not the same thing at all. I put a $40 sheet on the fridge two weeks ago and he just laughed and walked past it. My sister thinks I am being petty over small money, but it is not small when it is every single week. How do you all handle shared supplies without it turning into a fight?
