Pro tip: it took me 5 weeks to get my old roommate off my lease, and the fix was one phone call
My old roommate moved out last March but his name stayed on our lease at the place in Sacramento for 5 weeks. I figured the leasing office would just swap it over, so I emailed them twice, then called, then went in person twice. The manager kept saying they needed the landlord to sign off first. After week 4 I finally asked my roommate to just call the landlord himself and vouch for us. Done in 15 minutes, no paperwork, nothing. Honestly the whole hold up was nobody wanted to be the one to make the ask. Has anyone else had a place drag their feet on a lease change like this?
