My roommate had a rule about dishes and I found out why from her sister

So my roommate Danielle moved out last month and I thought I finally escaped the dish wars. Then her sister came by to grab a box she left and we got to talking. She told me Danielle has had the same rule since college: nobody touches her pans, not even to wash them. I asked why and her sister said Danielle got into a huge fight with a roommate back in 2019 over a $180 cast iron skillet. The girl soaked it in soap and water for two days and it rusted out. Danielle never let anyone near her cookware again. I kept thinking about the 4 months I spent mad at her for snapping at me when I rinsed her pan. She wasn't being a control freak, she was just guarding a thing that already got wrecked once. Now I want to ask, has anyone else had a roommate rule that seemed nuts until you heard the story behind it?
