Debate: did I owe my old roommate an apology for the dishes, or was he out of line for how he said it?
Two years in a place on Hollis St in Halifax with a guy named Dev, and for most of it I was sure I was the easy one to live with. Turns out I was the guy leaving a wet sponge in the sink for days and stacking pots "to soak" until they got gross. What tipped me off was a sticky note he left on the faucet that just said "day 6" with a little tally under it. Six days of me walking past the same pot.
Now here's where I can't decide who was right. Side A: he bottled it up for months and then got sarcastic with a note instead of just saying it to my face over coffee, so the tone was lousy. Side B: I was a grown adult who needed a passive aggressive note to notice a science project in the sink, so I don't get to be picky about his delivery.
Where do you all land on this? Is a snarky note fair game after 6 days, or should he have sat me down first? And how many days is too many for a pot to sit in your house?
