I rebuilt my garage shelves with 2x4s after the particle board ones sagged an inch in 6 months
Built those cheap particle board shelves in my garage back in March and by September the middle was bowing down about an inch under maybe 40 pounds of paint cans. I ignored it until a can slid off and cracked open on the floor. Pulled the whole thing out and redid it with 2x4s and a plywood top, added a center leg since it spans 6 feet. Should I have known particle board would sag like that or did I just overload it? Would love a review on the frame layout before I build the second one.
