Fixed the sag in my shop shelf brackets by flipping them 180 and adding a $4 strap

My garage shelves drooped about an inch and a half over 8 months until I flipped the brackets and ran a steel strap under the front edge. Went from holding 40 pounds of paint cans to my full tool chest with no bend after 3 months. Anyone got a better fix for MDF sagging on a 4 foot span or is the strap the way to go?
