Built a 4x8 workbench last Saturday with 2x4s from the Home Depot on 5th, it wobbles like a shopping cart
I threw it together in about 3 hours with 12 screws per leg and no corner braces because I figured 2x4s were beefy enough on their own. Now the whole thing rocks a solid inch side to side every time I push a plane across it, and I'm pretty sure the legs are just twisting on the screw threads. Did I mess up by skipping the diagonal supports, or is my garage floor the actual problem here? Also I used 2.5 inch screws, is that too short for butt joints on 2x4s?
