Went 14 months with a torn CV boot on my own truck before I finally fixed it in the driveway
Every time I walked past the front wheel I'd see that grease splatter on the inner fender and tell myself I'd get to it this weekend. Last Saturday I finally put it on jack stands in my driveway in Reno and had the axle out in about 40 minutes. The joint was still tight, so I cleaned it, repacked it, and put a $12 boot kit on instead of the $90 reman axle I'd been pricing. Test drove it around the block and the vibration I blamed on tires is gone. What's the longest you guys have let a small job sit on your own rig?
