Watch the lift arms on old 2-post lifts, near disaster at my shop

Had a customer's F-150 on my ancient Rotary lift in Tucson yesterday, arms shifted mid-job. The safety latch never caught, truck dropped 2 feet before I slammed the jack under it. Anyone else seen worn arm locks fail on older lifts, or should I just spend the $4k on a new one?
