The BMW specialty shop near Charlotte changed how I think about diagnostic fees

I used to think charging a flat $150 for diagnosis was a ripoff. But after 3 trips to a shop in Charlotte where they spent 45 minutes chasing an intermittent misfire on my F150, I changed my mind. The owner showed me how they use a Pico scope and waveform library to pinpoint issues in under 20 minutes. Their rate is $175 an hour, but they saved me from throwing parts at it. Has anyone else found a shop that actually proved their fee was worth it?

Yeah totally, had the same thing with my Ram. They showed me the live scope data on their tablet.

Did they show you the actual waveform data on the screen or just describe what they found?
