That $300 ECU flash on my 2015 Silverado was a total waste

I paid a shop in Nashville $300 to tune my truck for better gas mileage. They promised a 3 mpg gain but I saw maybe half a mile extra after a full tank. Drove it for two weeks and the check engine light came on three separate times. Had to take it to a different mechanic who told me the tune was messing with the oxygen sensors. Ended up paying another $150 to get the stock programming put back. Anyone else get burned by those flash tune promises?

Read a post on a truck forum where a guy said the same thing about his 2014 Silverado. Paid $250 for a flash and ended up with misfires and a dead battery after a week. Seems like these cheap flash tunes are a gamble. The shop that did yours probably just copied a generic map without adjusting for your specific truck. I'd rather save up for a proper dyno tune from a shop that knows these trucks. Those oxygen sensor issues you had are a classic sign they messed up the fuel trims.

Did you check your fuel trims after the tune, or just hope for the best?
