Spent 4 hours chasing a no-start on a 2011 Silverado because I trusted the scan tool
Had a truck towed into the shop last Tuesday with a crank no-start, and the scanner showed good fuel pressure and no codes, so I went down the spark rabbit hole for way too long. Turned out the security light was on and the Passlock system had tripped after the owner swapped the ignition switch himself. I should have checked the dash lights before I ever touched a wrench. How do you guys handle Passlock or VATS problems when the customer swears they didn't mess with anything?
