Pro tip: I used to laugh at the idea of a $200 torque wrench. Now I own two.
For years I thought my clicker from the parts store was good enough, and that the fancy digital ones were just a gimmick. Then I did a head gasket on a 5.3 Vortec and torqued everything down perfectly, only to have it weep coolant after a week. A buddy let me borrow his digital Snap-on wrench, and we found my old tool was off by almost 15 foot-pounds on the high end. That was six months ago. I bought a good one for engine work and haven't had a single comeback for a leak since. Anyone else have a tool they thought was overpriced until it saved a job?

Seems like a lucky break with your buddy's tool.

You ever notice how the right tool makes any job feel easier? I read a piece about how having good gear can actually change your whole mindset on a project. Makes sense when you think about it.
