Overheard a customer at the parts counter say 'it's just a bolt, how hard can it be'

He was buying a single head bolt for his truck, and the guy behind him in line (who looked like he knew his stuff) just shook his head and muttered 'torque specs and sequence exist for a reason, pal'. It made me think about all the times I've had to fix a job where someone thought it was that simple. How do you guys handle it when you see a DIYer about to make a costly mistake right in front of you?

Remember my own head bolt disaster, kinda like what happened to @victor_davis17's neighbor.

My neighbor learned the hard way that head bolts need a torque wrench. He cracked his block trying to do it by feel.
