Just realized my impact gun was stripping bolts because I was using the wrong socket type
Overheard a guy at the parts counter say he only uses 6-point impact sockets on suspension bolts after I snapped a control arm bolt last week. Has anyone else learned this the hard way or am I the only one who thought 12-point was fine?

thought 12-point was fine" - yeah that's a rough lesson. 6 point or bust for anything that needs torque.

My buddy learned that one the hard way on his truck. Round socket on a stuck bolt and it just walked right off, stripped to hell. Had to drill the dang thing out.
