I chose a torque wrench over an impact gun for a stubborn axle nut
Had a 2008 Civic with a seized axle nut, and everyone in the bay said to just hammer it with the big impact. I set up my 1/2 inch click-type torque wrench with a breaker bar instead, and it came off clean without rounding anything. Does anyone still use the old-school method for stuff like this, or is it just me?

My old Snap-On clicker has saved more fasteners than I can count. That slow, steady pull is way better than just hammering on it.

My neighbor tried to power wash his old deck last summer and just blasted the wood to splinters. Same idea, too much force in the wrong way. Sometimes the slower, controlled method is the right tool, even if it takes more patience.

Three months ago I bought a fancy torque wrench from a pawn shop for twenty bucks and thought I was a genius. Tried to crank down some lug nuts on my buddy's F-150 and the thing just clicked at me like a disappointed school teacher while the nut barely moved. Ended up borrowing his old Craftsman beam style wrench and got the job done in two minutes flat. Made me realize sometimes those little clicks and warnings are actually trying to save you from yourself.
