Hit 50 oil changes at my new job in Wichita and the 50th one was a disaster
Started at this quick lube place off Kellogg in Wichita about 3 months back and last Tuesday I did my 50th oil change. Felt like a big deal to me since I came from a tire shop and had to learn all this from scratch. Anyway the 50th car rolls in, a 2016 Silverado, and I'm feeling good, moving fast, got my rhythm down. Drained the pan, swapped the filter, filled it up, all good. Then the bay manager yells at me that I forgot to put the new crush washer on and it's dripping on the floor. Sure enough, little puddle forming right under the plug. Had to drain the whole thing again, new washer, refill, apologized to the customer who was already late for work. The manager didn't even yell, just shook his head and said the count doesn't matter if number 50 is the one you mess up. Felt like a rookie all over again. Any of you keep count when you started somewhere new, or was that just me being weird about it?
