Finally got my scan tool payback yesterday
Been two weeks since I picked up an Autel tablet from the tool truck and it already paid for itself on a 2019 F-150 with a weird EVAP code. The old code reader just said 'small leak' but this thing showed me the purge valve duty cycle was off by 12 percent. Anyone else find that spending big money on a scanner actually saves you money in the long run?

That "paid for itself" feeling is the best, right? I had a similar thing happen with a cheaper scan tool I bought years ago. It really clicked for me that spending a little more upfront is almost always cheaper than guessing and replacing parts that aren't actually broken. It's kind of like buying a good pair of boots instead of cheap ones that fall apart in six months (you know, that whole "buy it for life" mindset). You end up saving tons of time and frustration, not just money.

Yeah I read an article once that said the average person spends way more on quick fixes than they think. The writer called it the "cheap stuff tax" because you end up paying twice. That stuck with me.
