Broke a torque wrench on a rusted control arm bolt in Cleveland last winter
I was doing a front suspension job on a 2010 Ford Fusion, rust belt car. That lower control arm bolt was seized solid. I had my 1/2 inch torque wrench set to 85 ft-lbs for the final pass, but the bolt snapped at like 50 and the wrench clicked weird. After that it wont click at all. Anyone else had a torque wrench break on rusted hardware?

Guess that wrench "clicked" its last bolt.

Quick tip, soak it in penetrating oil first.
