Warning: That perfect week on the road almost cost me my license
Last July I had a stretch where everything went right for 5 straight days. Clear weather, easy loads, and I was making up time like crazy. Then on day 6 I rolled into a weigh station in Ohio and the officer pulled my logbook. I'd been so caught up in the good run that I forgot to check my hours-of-service properly. They hit me with a violation that took weeks to sort out. Anybody else ever let a smooth week blind them to the little rules that matter?

You ever wonder if the DOT has a sixth sense for when you're having too good a week? Last time I had a clean stretch like that I got pulled over in Indiana and realized I'd been running on 4 hours of sleep for two days. That violation was a real wake-up call, both literally and figuratively.
