The guy at the hardware store changed how I think about paint
I was grabbing a gallon of ceiling paint last Saturday and this older employee, maybe 60, stopped me and said I was buying the wrong kind. He told me flat paint hides mistakes better than matte, especially in old houses like mine built in 1988. I argued for a minute but he was right, the ceiling looks way smoother now. Has anyone else had a random stranger just drop knowledge that stuck with you?

Matte actually hides better with modern paint formulas though.
