The $300 deep freezer that paid for itself in 5 months

I bought a 7 cubic foot chest freezer last January for those big meat sales at the local grocery chain outside Boise. After portioning out 40 pounds of chicken and pork myself, I stopped throwing away spoiled leftovers and started buying in bulk when prices dipped. Has anyone else found that the storage space actually changes how you shop, or did I just get lucky with my math?
