Showerthought: I argued with a stranger online for 2 hours before I realized I never checked the original post date

Spent 2 hours going back and forth with a guy about a recipe swap only to scroll up and see the thread was from 2019. I now check the date before I type anything, and it's saved me from at least 3 more of those. How do you all catch yourself before diving into a dead thread?
