I was at a library in Seattle and a total stranger asked me the weirdest question

I was looking for a book on basic car repair last Tuesday. This older guy next to me just turned and asked, 'If you could ask for one piece of advice from anyone in history, who would it be and what would you ask?' I mean, I was just there for a manual. I told him I'd probably ask my grandpa how to fix a carburetor. He just nodded and walked away. Has anyone else had a random question completely throw off their whole train of thought like that?

Wow, that's a real curveball! Did you end up wondering what you'd actually ask after he left?

Depends on what "that" is though. People overreact to stuff all the time. My cousin once told me he ran into his ex at the grocery store and acted like it was some huge dramatic moment. Turns out they just awkwardly waved at each other and moved on. Unless there's like a restraining order or someone's throwing punches, it's probably not worth the stress. Half the time people blow these things way out of proportion online.
