Hit 50,000 miles on my car last week and it got me thinking about the whole 'keep it or trade it' debate
I rolled past 50k on my 2020 Honda Civic on Tuesday driving home from work. Part of me wants to keep driving it until the wheels fall off cause it's paid off and runs fine. But then I look at trade in values online and see I could get almost $18k for it right now before the mileage goes up more. What did you guys do when you hit a big number like that on your daily driver? Did you cash out or stick with what you know?

Kept my old Corolla until 180k and honestly never regretted it once I stopped looking at trade in numbers. Idk, there's something nice about not having a car payment every month and knowing exactly how your car drives. Maybe it's just me but I'd rather save that money for something else down the road.

Honestly my buddy had a 2004 Civic he drove until 220k miles. He finally traded it in only because the AC died and he couldn't stand summer without it. Said he got like 800 bucks for it but had saved like 15 grand over the years not having payments. Ngl he still brags about that thing like it was a Ferrari.
