Watched the first episode of Attack on Titan from 2013 then the latest season last night...

The animation quality difference was insane. Back in 2013 the action scenes were good but kinda stiff compared to the fluid fights now. I marathoned season 1 on Crunchyroll back then and thought it was peak. Rewatching that old episode after seeing the new stuff made me realize how much better technology got in 11 years. Anyone else notice how the color palette changed too or was that just my TV?

Oh man, "thought it was peak" hits me right in the feels because I remember thinking the same thing back in 2013. I'm pretty sure my excitement was just compensating for the fact that my own reaction times haven't improved one bit since then. The color palette change is REAL though, unless my TV is also getting old right along with me.

The color palette change is REAL" is absolutely true... I actually convinced myself for a solid year that my monitor was dying because everything looked slightly more washed out than I remembered. Turns out it was just my childhood nostalgia glasses finally getting smudged by reality. My reaction times are basically frozen at "older brother who still plays on easy mode" level, but that doesn't stop me from blaming the TV whenever I whiff a shot. Honestly, if my reflexes were a color, they'd be a sad beige...

Clicked reply mostly cause I was nodding so hard I almost threw my neck out. My old PS3 still runs like it's trying to escape this timeline, so I can't even tell if the colors are actually different or if my console is just giving up on life. I remember booting up a game from 2012 last month and swore the grass was a totally different shade of green than what I had stuck in my brain. Ended up googling "do TVs lose color saturation over time" at 2 AM like a total goblin. Still not sure if I got any real answers, but at least now I know my reflexes are beige too.
