The sub count explosion after that 2020 lockdown rewatch

Back in March 2020 this sub had maybe 40k members and we were happy if a thread got 50 comments. Then the lockdown hit and suddenly everyone was binging old classics like Cowboy Bebop and FMA all at once. I remember checking the stats on a random Tuesday night and we passed 200k in like 6 weeks. Now we get 1k comments on a Tuesday and it feels normal. What changed for me is that the vibe shifted from deep analysis to hot takes and meme posts. Does anyone else miss when we could discuss a single episode for 3 days without someone shouting 'mid'? Has the growth been worth the noise?

Honestly this reads like you're nostalgic for a time when people had less to do. The "noise" is just more people liking the same stuff you like, and that's not exactly a tragedy.

More fans just means the thing gets watered down, honestly.
