The dub script fact that made me question 15 years of watching anime
I was rewatching an old show from 2008 and googled a line because it sounded weird. Turns out the English dub added a whole joke that wasn't in the Japanese version, and the original scene was just two characters staring at a vending machine for 40 seconds. That sent me down a rabbit hole, and I found out that one famous anime changed a character's entire personality in the dub just to match a voice actor's comedic style. I've been watching subs ever since, and now I'm curious, has anyone else found a dub change that completely flipped how you saw a scene?

Isn't the point of a dub to make it fun for English speakers, not to copy it word for word?
