Wait, the record store people actually decide who's a real fan? That's wild to me. I've been in some snobby record shops where the clerks look at you like you're trash if you don't know every B-side, but actually gatekeeping fandom through a store feels next level. Like, are we really letting a cashier with a bad attitude tell us what we're allowed to enjoy? The whole "real fan" argument is just exhausting anyway, people need to chill and let others like what they like without making it a competition.
