My little cousin asked why we always talk about the same five shows, and it stopped me cold.
We were at a family cookout last weekend and I was telling him about the new season of a popular shonen, and he just looked at me and said, 'Is that all there is?' It made me realize our forum threads are stuck in a loop debating the same old series from three years ago. Are we missing out on great new stuff because we're too busy rehashing the same old fights?

Man, isn't it wild how easy it is to get stuck? I was just looking at my own watch list and realized I've been rewatching the same comfort shows for months. There's probably a ton of cool new stuff we're all skipping.

Ever notice how this happens with everything now? Same playlist on repeat, same route to work, same lunch order. It's like our brains just pick a default setting and refuse to change. I even buy the same brand of socks every time. New stuff feels like a chore to figure out.

That's a really sharp question from your cousin. It makes me wonder if we're just scared to try new things because the old stuff feels safe. Like @the_wesley said about comfort shows, maybe we're all just tired and don't want to risk our free time on something that might not click. But then we end up in this echo chamber where nothing new ever gets talked about. Do you think the problem is that we don't have a good place to share smaller finds without them getting drowned out by the same big arguments?
