Anime makes cooking look way simpler than it really is.

Honestly they never show the prep work, do they? In those cooking scenes, the carrots are already diced and the pan is magically the right temperature. You ever notice they never animate someone washing rice for ten minutes or scraping burnt bits off the bottom of the pot? That’s the real kitchen work they skip.

Yeah, I feel that. My last cooking project looked more like a crime scene than a meal.
