Can we talk about how hard it is to get into a 200+ episode shonen as an adult with a job
Last month I finally cracked and started One Piece after years of telling myself I never would. I'm 34, I work 50 hours a week at a warehouse in Fresno, and I made it to episode 47 before I realized I'd been watching for three weeks straight and Luffy still hadn't even met Sanji yet. My buddy who put me onto it keeps saying it gets good around episode 300, which is genuinely insane when you say it out loud. I want to love these long shows but my watchlist is already 40 deep and I have maybe an hour a night if I'm lucky. How do you all handle the big ones, do you just commit and accept you'll be watching one series for the next two years, or do you skip arcs and fill in the gaps? Also does the pacing ever stop feeling like it's dragging one fight across six episodes?
