Appreciation post: My buddy from high school called me out on my anime hot takes last weekend

I was ranting about how every isekai is just a copy of Sword Art Online and he said 'have you actually watched Log Horizon though or are you just repeating what you saw on Twitter?' Hit different cause he was right, I hadn't. Got me thinking about how much I judge shows based on what other people say without giving them a fair shot. Anyone else ever get called out like that and end up finding a new favorite?

Thought the same way until my buddy proved me wrong on pretty much every take I had.

That whole thing about having your mind changed by a buddy really hits home. @the_faith, it took someone close to me to do the same thing. I was dead set on my views about farming methods until my neighbor showed me his no-till setup and the soil health difference was huge. Now I can't believe I used to argue against it so hard.
