Warning: Those cheap wireless sensors from Amazon cost me $80 and 6 hours

I bought a 4-pack of those no-name wireless door sensors for $80 last month. Figured they'd be fine for a side job at my buddy's garage. Took me about 6 hours to get them all paired and mounted, but by day 3, two of them were just dropping off the network randomly. Had to go back and rip them all out. Has anyone else had better luck with any budget brands or is it basically just name brands that work?

My buddy kept telling me to just grab those cheap ones, so I finally tried a 4-pack of some random brand off Amazon for my own place. Worked fine for like two days, then half of them just went dead and I spent another afternoon fighting with the app. Honestly, it changed my mind completely and now I just wait for sales on the big names.

Man, I read somewhere that those cheap sensors often use the same chips but with worse antennas or something, which explains why they drop off so fast. Sounds like you got the exact same experience I keep hearing about from other folks who tried them.
