Vent: Wasted $200 on a panel with a fake UL sticker

Bought a DSC PC1616 off some guy on Craigslist for a side job. Looked legit in the photos but when I opened it up the board had this weird soldering job. Tried to power it up and nothing happened, no lights no nothing. Lost $200 and now I'm driving 45 minutes to the supply house to get a real one. Anyone else get burned by fake gear online?

Bought a "brand new" laptop off eBay once that turned out to be a rehomed best buy floor model.

Man that is such a dirty move by whoever sold it to you. I mean floor models get handled by hundreds of people, turned on and off a million times, and they definitely don't come with the same warranty as a real new unit. The worst part is those Best Buy guys probably factory reset it and wiped the serial numbers so it looks clean, but the battery life is already shot from being plugged in 24/7. You basically paid full price for something that was already half worn out. That seller should be banned from eBay for life in my opinion.
