That $220 wireless repeater was a total waste on a brick warehouse job
Picked up a mesh repeater for a retrofit in an old St. Louis warehouse last month and it just bounced off every load-bearing wall, so I yanked it after two trips and went back to hardwiring through the drop ceiling, has anyone else had luck with those on commercial builds or am I just cursed with thick masonry?

Masonry is basically a giant "no signal" sign for wireless, so you're not cursed, just fighting physics. I once put a repeater in a concrete office and it worked great for about ten minutes, then the building's HVAC kicked on and it turned into a very expensive paperweight. My favorite part was climbing down the ladder, holding the box, and realizing my phone hotspot through two layers of drywall was beating it. Hardwiring through the drop ceiling is the only move that ever feels like a win, even if it makes you want to cry when you're fishing cable. Maybe the mesh gods just hate old brick, who knows.
