Spent 3 hours fishing a 22 gauge wire out of a wall cavity in Norfolk after my drill grabbed it
Pulled half the insulation out with it and had to re-run the whole keypad drop from scratch. Now I tape every wire to the bit before I drill, what do you all do to stop this?
Nothing like turning a 20 minute job into a full rebuild because your drill decided to play tug of war with a live wire. Three hours in a Norfolk wall cavity sounds like my own personal version of hell, especially when you know you could've just taped it first and saved yourself the pain. I learned that lesson the hard way too, except mine involved a coax run and a lot of cussing. Tape on the bit before every single hole is the move, no exceptions. It feels dumb until the one time it saves your whole afternoon.
