Shoutout to the old cellular dialers that saved my butt last Tuesday

I was installing a system in a basement in Omaha and the new IP communicator just would not connect. The customer's wifi was spotty and my hardline run was going to take way too long. I had to fall back to an old Honeywell 7845G cellular dialer I keep in my van for emergencies. It paired up in like 10 minutes and the central station got the test signal right away. Has anyone else had to rely on older gear when the new stuff lets you down?

Not sure I'd call a basement install that serious. The new IP stuff drops out all the time in my experience, and a quick cellular backup isn't exactly a crisis. Glad the old dialer worked though.
