Rant: Why I stopped using hardwired motion sensors on residential jobs
Used to swear by hardwired everything for 8 years until a house in Phoenix with stucco walls had me running conduit for two extra days. Switched to wireless Honeywell sensors after that job and cut my install time by nearly 40%, plus no more crawling through attics in 110 degree heat. Has anyone else found that wireless reliability has caught up enough to ditch the hardwire route?

Got a buddy who ran a big residential job in Austin last year. He swore up and down hardwire was the only way to go until he spent an entire Saturday fishing wires through an old house with blown-in insulation. Came out looking like a snowman and cussing up a storm. Next week he tried the wireless Honeywell stuff on a similar house and finished the whole thing in one afternoon. He called me laughing about how he used to be such a hardwire snob and now he won't touch a roll of 22/4 if he can help it.

Wireless is just radio, not actual wifi though.
