Pro tip: spent 4 hours chasing a ground fault that turned out to be one staple
Did a panel swap in a shop off Delany Road and the new can kept tripping the instant I powered up zone 3. I metered every loop, swapped the keypad, even ran a temp wire across the floor before I finally crawled the whole run on my hands and knees. Turned out a staple from the original install in 2009 had nicked the jacket just enough that the conductor was kissing the ground the whole time. Four hours for a 30 second fix. Any of you keep a TDR in the truck for stuff like this, or do you just start crawling?

Man, hate to say it but the staple wasn't really "kissing" ground, if it nicked the jacket and hit copper that's a dead short to ground. Kissing would be a partial deal that trips sometimes or shows up on a megger. Either way yeah, four hours for that stings bad.
