Man that hurts to read because I've been there. Spent almost five years running low voltage stuff and kept getting my colors crossed before a foreman finally broke it down for me in ten minutes. Felt like such a dummy afterward but at least he was cool about it.

Three years in and I was still mixing up orange and brown like they were the same color. My foreman just looked at me one day and said "you know those are different functions right?" and I felt about two inches tall. I had been wiring smoke detectors wrong for months nobody caught it until we had a fire drill and half the building didn't go off. At least nobody got hurt but man that was a rough Monday morning meeting.
