Hot take: spent 6 hours on a 3-story house in Phoenix because a sliding door sensor kept tripping, turned out a $2 shim fixed it
I was ready to rip out the whole loop and re-run wire until I noticed the frame was off by a quarter inch from the summer heat, so I shimmed the magnet and it held solid for a year, and now I want to know if anyone else in this trade keeps a stash of plastic shims in their van for exactly this kind of nonsense.
