Tried air frying frozen fish sticks and was shocked they weren't rubbery

Honestly, I've always been skeptical of air frying frozen stuff like fish sticks because I thought they'd come out either soggy or dried out. But last Tuesday I tossed a handful of Gorton's into my basket at 400°F for 10 minutes and they came out crispy and flaky inside. No grease smell lingering in the kitchen either, which was a bonus. Anyone else find a frozen food that actually works better in the air fryer than the oven?

A buddy of mine tossed frozen mozzarella sticks in his air fryer last week and said they turned out way better than baking them. They got that golden crunch on the outside without the cheese leaking everywhere like it does in the oven. He's been bragging about it nonstop ever since.

Three bags of those things later my air fryer is basically a cheese stick shrine now.

Saw a video where some food blogger tested frozen mozz sticks in the air fryer vs oven and they were literally comparing crunch levels like it was a science experiment lol. @sageellis is right though once you start you can't stop, I did a whole bag in one sitting last weekend. The key is shaking the basket halfway through so the cheese doesn't pool in one spot and get all greasy. Your buddy ain't wrong about the leaking either, oven always makes a mess on the tray but air fryer keeps it contained. I'm not surprised he's bragging, it's literally a game changer for drunk snacks.
